Open Morning

Saturday saw our first Open Morning of the year, and what a wonderful morning it was! It is always a real pleasure to meet new families who are considering joining us at Handcross Park, and to hear what they think about our School.

The pupils were wonderful ambassadors of the School and once again we were inundated with praise for their kindness, confidence and exceptional manners. Our Tour Guides were utterly brilliant. It was a joy to see them so excited to tell their stories of all the things they love about Handcross Park. The families were gushing with praise for the Guides and we were all very proud of them.

We have changed the format of Open Morning this year and started the day with a showcase in the Chapel. Our musicians played and sang beautifully and the speeches delivered by our Head Boy and Head Girl were very touching. Such confidence, energy and refined public speaking skills in 12 year old children was incredible to witness.

One family that I feel deserves a special mention consisted of two ex Handcross Park pupils and their son (with another child on the way). They met here at Handcross Park as children and we’ll be welcoming them back as parents soon. A real life Handcross Park love story! They were amazed to see the changes that have happened here at School, but both felt strongly that the ‘feel’ of Handcross Park hadn’t changed a bit. It’s still a happy, kind school with a real buzz about it. They immediately signed up their children and can’t wait for them to experience the same happy Handcross Park childhood that they clearly loved so much. A heartwarming moment.
