Driving through the gates of Handcross Park Prep School and up the long drive, visitors find themselves in 52 acres of stunning Sussex parkland and extensive playing fields. The setting is truly wonderful, with much of the grounds laid to superb gardens and open areas. The facilities at Handcross Park are excellent and offer the space, opportunities and the technology that children require for a first-class education.

The School has excellent facilities, which are used by pupils from Nursery to Year 8 on a regular basis.  Educational resources include: interactive smartboards in every classroom, and Google Chromebooks, which can be used in all of the classrooms. We also have two state-of-the-art Science laboratories. We have a newly built Art & Design Centre, housing an incredible gallery for the display of children’s work, a kiln and pottery wheel and a circular saw for advanced DT projects.

In addition to this, there is a busy, stand-alone Music School, which has numerous practice rooms available for individual instrument learning and practice. Our newly refurbished Pavilion is a beautiful space for Dance, group Drama lessons and individual LAMDA lessons.

The sports fields cater for Football, Rugby, Hockey, Cricket, Rounders and Cross-Country, alongside our newly built all-weather pitch: this incredible new facility is floodlit and allows sport to continue whatever the weather. There is also a large Sports Hall, an Athletics track, a 6-hole Golf course and Tennis courts. The School also boasts an indoor swimming pool.

With a commitment to outdoor learning, the grounds play host to a variety of learning activities including a Forest School and Organic Gardens, complete with chickens. There is also a fun adventure playground which, with its range of play equipment and zip wire, is always busy at play time.
