Casual Holiday Club Assistant

Handcross Park School are seeking to appoint a Casual Holiday Club Assistant.

Are you looking for a job that offers good flexibility, with control over when you work? Are you confident, kind and nurturing with excellent communication skills and a passion for childcare? Is the magic of our ‘Secret Garden’ setting perfect for you? We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Holiday Club Assistant, Level 3 or above, to work in our fantastic Holiday Club, for children aged 2-7. The position will support our holiday club throughout the year, specifically on our school INSET days.

Engagement with young children, energy, excellent communication skills and flexibility are all key to the role. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a fantastic team in a stunning rural Holiday Club setting where children’s happiness is at the heart of everything we do.

Part-Time Marketing Assistant

Pre-Prep Teaching Assistant - Maternity Cover

School Shop Manager - Part time

The purpose of this role is to manage the School Uniform Shop in a professional and efficient manner.  Duties to include, but not limited to, helping customers purchase the required items of school clothing, recording sales accurately, purchasing stock in accordance with School procedures, ensuring stock is well presented in an ordered and tidy manner and developing the range of items stocked.  A professional and flexible approach is required and someone with retail knowledge is essential.

Key areas of responsibility.

School Shop

  • To liaise with parents on the provision of school uniform and accessories for pupils.
  • To run the School shop efficiently so there are no stock shortages.  To order replenishment stock and liaise with suppliers regarding quantities and delivery times.
  • To complete purchase orders in line with required HXPCS Ltd purchasing policies.
  • To manage other School shop staff to provide consistent shop opening times and a complete fitting service to parents as deemed reasonable. 
  • To authorise shop assistant staff time sheets on a timely basis.
  • To liaise and work closely with the finance department to ensure that uniform charges are accurately recorded on parent bills on a timely basis.  To ensure that any parent queries are swiftly investigated.
  • To liaise with the maintenance department on deliveries and movements of stock.
  • To perform an annual full stock count at the year-end for audit purposes and investigate any variances on count levels. To perform additional stock counts at the end of each term to maintain accurate accounting records of stock levels.
  • To organise the School shop space in order to maximise stock visibility whilst purveying a neat and professional image. To give due attention to secure storage of School stock.
  • To liaise with the Bursar regarding new stock lines and stock margins on a regular basis.
  • To deliver any reasonable request by the Bursar.

Part Time Admissions Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with exceptional people skills and customer focused attention to detail, together with energy and enthusiasm and the willingness to go the extra mile.  Supporting the Registrar, the part time Admissions Assistant role encompasses all aspects of the end-to-end process of welcoming new families to Handcross Park.

Key responsibilities:

  • To respond in a timely manner to enquiries from prospective families and ensure the school database is kept updated;
  • Arrange visits for prospective families and International Agents to include conducting tours of the school;
  • Assist with the organisation and execution of Open Mornings, Taster Days and Assessment Days;
  • Working closely with the Registrar to manage the end-to-end process from pupil registration to joining the school;
  • Supporting the Registrar with various administrative duties including visa applications and Open Morning preparations;
  • Working with Brighton College to manage international pupil information including all aspect of Visa applications:
  • Take lead role to implement and administer an Alumni database including organising an annual event;
  • Attend Handcross Park and Brighton College Open Mornings when required. Time off in lieu will be agreed.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Meticulous administration skills and communication skills
  • Strong proof-reading and editing skills
  • A warm and professional telephone manner
  • An ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good IT literacy, ideally with graphic design experience
  • Experience of dealing with business social media platforms would be an advantage
  • Enthusiasm, vision, a ‘can-do’ attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile

  • Flexibility to support the Registrar as needed

Hours of work: Hours will be 21 hours per week (with half an hour unpaid lunchbreak) to be worked over 3 days, during term time plus an additional 6 weeks in the school holidays.  Days will be agreed at interview.

Holidays: Statutory Holiday Entitlement, (holidays to be taken during school holiday periods).

Salary: According to experience and qualifications relevant to the post.
